Son In Arms

I know someday you’ll come back home,
I don’t feel so great since you’re gone,
I’ve been waiting for years now,
My hair has grown old,
My head is a mess and my body doesn’t work anymore.

My son, you’re the only one I have,
Even on your bad days, I’ll have your back,
Maybe I’m selfish,
But that’s what mothers do,
This may seem crazy to you but son this is the truth.

I hope someday I’ll see you in my arms,
The only place you’ll feel safe and no harm,
Son my days are getting closer,
Please come and see me,
I’ll stay right here waiting for you and where else would I be?

The struggle is almost over,
Over the horizon is the war,
Don’t you worry my son,
You’ll be fine on your farms,
Your mother is waiting to hold you in her arms.
